I remember every Saturday cleaning of the shelves and tables of nick knacks and what nots so that my mother and I could dust. One product she liked to use came in an iconic, bright yellow, aerosol can. The other product she liked to use came in a bottle with a squirt cap that reminded me of sunscreen. Both of these were decent products, but since I like to make my own, I wanted to tackle this as well.
I started to read on things that were good for wood furniture to have. I never realized that dusting wasn’t just about removing the dust and dander off the surfaces in our homes, but it also gives a person opportunity to nourish certain pieces and take the time (a few seconds at most) to inspect the different pieces just to make sure they are still sturdy. My house is no longer full of kids, but I still have a train wreck of a cat. So, taking time to look over things is never a bad idea.
This recipe is simple enough and can be put is a spray bottle or a squirt bottle, which ever you prefer.
¼ c olive oil
2 tsp white vinegar
½ c water
Herby sprigs and citrus peel (optional)
